Honouring Remembrance with Recycled Poppies

This Remembrance Day, our students have turned recycled plastic bottles into a beautiful and meaningful display. The pupils transformed used bottles into striking red poppies, which have been creatively attached to large letters spelling out “BLOXHAM,” now prominently featured at the school’s entrance.

The project combines art, environmental awareness, and remembrance, as students learnt about the significance of the poppy while also understanding the importance of recycling and reducing waste. Crafting the poppies involved cutting, shaping, and painting the bottles, with each flower symbolising gratitude and respect for those who served in the Armed Forces.

The eye-catching “BLOXHAM” installation serves as a thoughtful and sustainable tribute, reminding all who visit the school of the importance of honouring the past and caring for our shared future. This effort highlights the school’s commitment to community, creativity, and environmental responsibility, aligning with the values expressed in our motto: Be . Build . Become.
