Educational Visits and Residentials
Whilst your child is at Bloxham, we aim to provide them with a range of additional learning experiences which will become wonderful memories and milestones in their learning journey.
From Reception through to Year 6, teachers plan for educational visits and visitors, which will bring learning to life for pupils. For example, pupils may visit a local farm or museum or enjoy a Roman or Stone Age Day on our own site.
By Years 5 and 6, these opportunities extend to residential visits, first for two nights and then in Year 6 for four nights.
The Year 5 residential provides a first taster of being away from home with the opportunity to enjoy a programme of fun sports and activities. The programme varies from year to year but typically includes activities such as climbing wall, buggy building, problem solving, fencing and zip wire.
By Year 6 the longer residential stay provides the opportunity for pupils to experience a series of adventurous, high-quality outdoor learning such as caving, canoeing and climbing. Pupils will wake at 7:30 am and will be engaged in non-stop activities, interspersed with nourishing food stops until 21:00. This is not a holiday!
Whilst your child is away, staff will endeavour to post daily updates and a selection of photos and/or videos to provide a flavour of activities. However, we are unable to guarantee a photo of every child, every day.
