Bloxham Foundation Stage Partnership

At Bloxham, we are passionate about providing a nurturing and inspiring space for your child to fulfil their potential. We have a well established partnership between our Bloxham Pre School and Foundation unit, which has been running since 2004 and helps ensure a smooth transition for children within their early years at our school.

Our Aim
  • Every child is in a safe and stimulating environment
  • Every child is given generous care and attention
  • Every child is helped to take their learning forward
  • Every child has a key person
  • Parents are seen as partners in helping the child learn and develop

All children deserve the care and support they need to have the best start in life.

CHildren learn and develop at a faster rate from birth to five years old than at any other time in their lives, so their experiences in early years have a major impact on their future life chances.

We follow The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) statutory framework set out by the Department for Education Early years foundation stage (EYFS) statutory framework - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk). This sets the standards that all early years providers must meet to ensure that children learn and develop well and are kept heathy and safe.

We use the Birth to Five Matters documentation along with the Development Matters guidance to support our practice in class.  We observe children as they interact in their play, in their everyday activities and planned activities.  We also learn from parents about what their child does at home. We use this information to identify where the child may be in their own development pathway.

Using the EYFS statutory framework and our knowledge of child development, we then consider ways to support children to strengthen and deepen their current learning and development. It promotes teaching and learning to ensure children’s ‘school readiness’ and gives children the broad range of knowledge and skills that provide the right foundation for good future progress through school and life.
