School Uniform
It is our policy that all children should wear clothing that is in keeping with a purposeful learning ethos, and which is cost-effective.
The base colours of our uniform are red, black and white. Branded uniform with the school logo is available through Cross Embroidery, however branded items are not compulsory.
All clothing and shoes should be clearly labelled with your child’s name.
All children need:
- Red school jumper/cardigan, with or without school logo
- Red or white polo shirt with or without school logo or plain white shirt
- Black trousers/ tailored shorts/culottes/skirt/pinafore dress
- Red and white gingham dresses/playsuits may be worn in the summer term
- Plain black/ white/ grey/ red socks or tights
- Smart plain black shoes/ smart plain black trainers. Plain black boots may be worn in the winter term. Plain black sandals may be worn in the summer term (for health and safety reasons, these should NOT be open-toe).
- Red fleece jackets with the school logo are also available, fleece jackets are optional and not compulsory.
For PE all children need:
- Plain black tracksuit bottoms/shorts/skorts/leggings (weather dependent)
- School red and black PE T-shirt
- Trainers
- Plain black or red fleece/zip-up jacket
- Year 5 and 6 need mouth guards and shin pads
The only logo to be displayed is the school logo, other branded items are both unsuitable for PE or school generally.
We suggest that pupils also have a spare pair of socks. All PE kit should be kept in a named, traditional style drawstring bag. PE kit should be brought to school on a Monday and taken home on a Friday.
Our NEW PE T-shirt is now available to purchase from Cross Embroidery
Jewellery and Hair
One pair of small plain studs is permitted in pierced ears. These must be removed for any sporting activity. For newly pierced ears, we do allow surgical tape to be used, but we strongly recommend that ear-piercing takes place at the beginning of the summer holidays to allow time for ears to heal. On health and safety grounds, we do not allow children to wear any other jewellery in our school, other than watches.
Make up, including nail varnish, or any nail decoration, is not considered appropriate or consistent with our school uniform. Hairstyles should be neat and tidy, with accessories restrained and discrete. To minimise the spread of nits and headlice we strongly suggest long hair is tied back. Hair must be tied back when requested for PE and science to ensure safety.
FoBPS have a number of items of second-hand uniform available for a small donation/charge and there is a Facebook Group setup Bloxham Primary School Uniform for Sale where parents list items for sale.
